PROCUREMENT
MATCO sources paddy from the traditionally rich and fertile Basmati growing areas of the Punjab, Mandi- Bahaddin, Narowal, Muridke, Jhang, Narang and Sialkot. MATCO is the only exporter in Pakistan to establish a Rice Cultivating Monitoring Program (RCMP).

The RCMP ensures that only the best quality basmati rice grown in these areas is procured. MATCO has established a control and research cell in Lahore from where the company representatives start their survey of the rice crop, early from the sowing period.

Samples of soil, nursery, weeds, weather reports irrigation conditions and fumigation reports are continuously sent to the laboratory in Karachi until the crop is harvested. On the basis of this data, quality of the futures crop is ascertained and the crop is procured in advance.

MATCO is an ISO – 9002 certified company. MATCO was the first rice processing firm in Pakistan to get the HACCP award (Food Safety Management Systems).

Our expert team of Rice Testers judges the true worth of the milled grains by inspecting, smelling and tasting the cooked rice hence each grain at MATCO is precision tested and stands testimony to the prudent efforts taken by MATCO’s “Rice Exports and Professionals”.
